H.D. "Mack" McDonald, 97, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 21, 2016, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Born in Commerce, GA, on Mar. 26, 1919, to Harrison David and Lula (Callaway) McDonald, he married Helen Whitman in Hazard, KY; she preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2006.

Mack is survived by three daughters, Janie Potts and Elaine McDonald, both of Georgia, and Kathy (William "T.J.") Stotlar of Bluffton; three sons, Phil McDonald, Dennis McDonald, and Daniel (Tina) McDonald, all of Georgia; step-daughters, Peggy (Bill) Wise of Syracuse, Colleen Camerson of Ft. Wayne; step-sons, Carl Meyers of Cecil, OH, Jack (Mary) Gerber of Paulding, OH, Robert (Susan) Igney of Ft. Wayne, and John (Diane) Igney of Columbia City; along with over 40 grandchildren, over 30 great grandchildren, and several great great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Sally Meyers; a step-son, Gerald Meyers; three brothers, Edward, Homer, and Otha McDonald; a sister, Lovada Carter; and one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
