Lucille M. Levy, 99, a resident of Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. She was born October 16, 1912, in Wells County, to Cleophas E. Myers and Marie (Risley) Myers. She married Amos "Stook" Levy on March 8, 1941; he preceded her in death on August 3, 1987. Mrs. Levy was a homemaker, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also worked many years as a cook for the Bluffton-Harrison Metropolitan School District and she volunteered many hours at the Bargain Hut and Wells Community Hospital gift shop. She was also named Woman of the Year in Wells County 1991. She was a 1931 graduate of Chester Center School. Survivors include a son, Robert Levy of Fort Wayne; two granddaughters, Raegan (Doug) Potter of Carmel and Erika (Chris) Gumz of Fort Wayne; two great-grandchildren, Claire Potter of Carmel and Drake Gumz of Fort Wayne. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Myers and Winifred Weterick; one brother, Herman Myers; and a daughter-in-law, Annie Levy. Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m., at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
