IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lora L.
Bopp
November 22, 1957 – August 28, 2025
Lora Lee (Spratt) Bopp, 67, of Bluffton, passed away Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 2025, at her residence.
Lora was born in Fort Wayne on Nov. 22, 1957, to Arnold "Tony" and Linda Sue (Smith) Grotrian. Her father survives in Arlington, OH. Lora married John W. Bopp in Ossian on May 23, 1986; he survives.
Lora attended the Bluffton First United Methodist Church, and she found immense joy in simple pleasures: a leisurely walk in nature, the laughter of family and friends gathered near, the comforting presence of her beloved pets – Blaze, Nyla, and Feeny. Children held a special place in her heart; she cherished their innocence and the boundless joy they brought her.
Her enduring friendship with Trudy, spanning an incredible 47 years, stands as a testament to the depth of her loyalty and affection. The conversations she shared with her Aunt Dixie, her only surviving aunt, were a source of comfort and connection. And her circle of friends extended far and wide, a testament to the warmth and kindness she so readily offered. Beyond the milestones and dates, Lora's legacy is woven from the threads of countless loving connections. Her gentle spirit touched so many, and her memory will forever warm our hearts.
Lora leaves behind a large and loving family who will deeply miss her presence. In addition to her father and husband John, of 39 years, Lora is survived by a son, David (Stephanie) Bopp of Thorntown; a daughter, Adrienne Bopp (Hunter) of Grand Haven, MI; a granddaughter, Aundrea Atkins; a brother, Andre (Lisa) Grotrian of Findlay, OH; and a sister, Tonia (Leon) Thornton of Bluffton, OH. She is also survived by her nieces, Jennifer, Morgan, Ashley, and Andre'a; her nephews, Aaron, Matt, Brandon, and Clayton (and his wife Sierra); her great-niece, Amiah; and her great-nephews, Wade, Lincoln, Hudson, Oakley, Sam, Bentley, Brycen, and Kian. Each of you holds a special place in her heart, and she loved you all dearly.
Aside from her mother, Lora was preceded in death by a sister, Jodie Spratt.
The void Lora leaves behind is immeasurable, but the love she shared will continue to shine brightly in our memories.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at noon, at the Bluffton First United Methodist Church, 325 W. Washington St. Bluffton, IN, with visitation from 11:00 AM until noon, prior to the service. Rev. Ed Fisher will officiate.
Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA or Friends of the Shelter, in memory of Lora's love for animals.
