Lona Jane Caylor, 76, of Ossian, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Caylor was born in Wabash County on Dec. 7, 1934, to Russell J. and Martha B. (Cole) Minnick. A 1952 graduate of Somerset High School, Mrs. Caylor gained a B.S. degree in nursing at Ball State in 1956 and worked as a nurse anesthetist at Caylor-Nickel Hospital for 36 years, retiring in 1996. She attended Murray Missionary Church. Surviving relatives include one son, Bob (Tanya) Caylor of Ossian; one sister, Jennifer (Rick) Bower of Markle; one brother, John Minnick of Tocsin; and four grandchildren, Rowan, Ben, Cassie and Colleen Caylor. Mrs. Caylor was also preceded in death by one brother, James Minnick. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Memorial services will be at 8 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Pastor Lenny Stringer officiating. Burial is at Grant Memorial Park in Marion. Preferred memorials are to the Acres Land Trust or the Bluffton-Wells County Animal Shelter/Wells County Humane Society.
