Lois V. "Ginger" Melching, 81, of Bluffton, died at 6:10 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton. Mrs. Melching had been employed at Franklin Electric in Bluffton, retiring after 18 years of service. She had also been employed at the Wells Community Hospital. She was a graduate of Bluffton High School and was a member of the Bethel Church in Bluffton. She was born Dec. 28, 1930, in Wells County, to Wilmer R. Kleinknight and Devona Archibold Kleinknight. She married Homer Melching July 26, 1953, in Bluffton; her husband survives. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Brett Melching of Monroe and Tori Melching of Bluffton; one great-grandchild; and two brothers, Craig (Marilyn) Kleinknight of Fort Myers, Fla., and Jay Kleinknight of Orlando, Fla. She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Melching on April 11, 2004, and Thomas Melching on May 11, 2010. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Calling will be from noon to 4 p.m. Friday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at the funeral home at 4 p.m. Friday with Nile Bucher officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery in Wells County. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.
