Lewis Dale Topp, age 89, passed away on December 18, 2018 at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN.

He was born May 11, 1929 in Jasper County, Indiana to Lewis and Ruby (Reinhart) Topp. Dale graduated from Francesville High School in1937, after high school he was drafted into the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a radio message operator.

Dale was married to Jewell Mumford on September 17, 1977, she preceded him in death on December 18, 2010.

He was a lifetime bookkeeper working for the Francesville Co-Operative Elevator in Francesville, IN and then for Lyon, Greenleaf Flour Mill in Ligonier, IN. He was a member of the Wawasee Community Nazarene Church where he served as both the song director and treasurer. He loved to sing and enjoy woodworking in his spare time.

Survivors include children from a previous marriage, two sons, Duane (Karin) Topp of Upper Saddle River, NJ and Dean (Angie) Topp of Bluffton, IN; and three daughters, Darlene (Terry) Risner of Rensselaer, IN, Dolores (Keith) Schladenhauffen of Francesville, IN., and Denise (Mike) Akers of Locust Grove, VA. He has two step-sons, Clarence (Judy) Mumford of DeBary, FL and Alan (Jan) Mumford of Lecanto, Fl; and a step-daughter, Tammy Gardner of Park Ridge, IL. He also has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marjorie Kilander, a brother, Gerald Topp, and a daughter, Trina Topp.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held following visitation at 5:00 PM at the funeral home followed by a burial committal service. Pastor John Reinhard will be officiating. Burial will take place at the Syracuse Cemetery, Syracuse, IN.
