Lester W. Steffen, 69, of Bluffton, died at 2:38 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. Mr. Steffen was born in Bluffton on April 7, 1940 to Noah and Aldula Schwartz Steffen. He married Carol Ann Blocker in Adams County on June 24, 1978; she preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2009 A 1958 graduate of Bluffton High School, Mr. Steffen served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965. He worked at Franklin Electric, and also as a truck driver. Surviving relatives include two sisters, Wava Bertsch of Bluffton and Carolyn (Ben) Manz of Paulding, Ohio. Calling hours will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with Nile Bucher and Doyle Frauhiger officiating. Burial is at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, in Blufftton.
