Larry E. Weekley, 67, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009, at the Northwest Medical Center of Bentonville, Ark. Larry was born on March 6, 1942, and was preceded in death by his father, Earl Weekley, and one infant son. He was retired from General Telephone Company of Indiana after many years of service, as was employed by Mercom. Larry enjoyed many good times with his two sons and his late father on the farm and visiting with his family. He was an avid sports enthusiast. One of his greatest gifts was his friendly, jovial personality. "He never met a stranger." He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Thompson) Weekley, his mother, Erma Weekley, of Deland, FL, his two sons, Jeffrey Weekley of Knoxville, Tenn. and Scott Weekley of Stow, Ohio; one granddaughter; three stepsons, Edward Thompson, John Thompson, and Robert Thompson, all of Bluffton. Also surviving are seven step grandchildren, two sisters, Linda Chambers of Saxonburg, Pa. and Connie Skinner of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews. The visitation and funeral service will be held at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220 E. State Road 124, Bluffton, IN 46714, on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and services will be at 3 p.m. Pastor Mike Wertenberger of St. Luke's Church of Decatur, IN, will be officiating the service. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton. Memorials can be made to donor's choice.
