Larry W. Dustman, 74, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1942, in Bluffton, to Willard S. and Jennette I. Bricker Dustman. He married JoAnn Gazdik on Oct. 12, 1963, in Bluffton; she survives.
Known years ago as "Dusty" and in recent years as "Big L," he was a graduate of Bluffton High School, Class of 1960. He worked for 31 years for Caylor-Nickel in the maintenance department. He was also a mechanic for John Gallman/ Hershal Schwartz Dealerships. He attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Larry enjoyed collecting model trains and loved fixing things, riding his moped and fishing. He watered plants in the downtown Bluffton business district for years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Rick) Hughett and Julie (Daniel) Long, both of Bluffton; a son, Brian Dustman and his companion Julie Longenberger, both of Bluffton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Zach Hughett, Leah (Ryan) Pursley, Mariah (Cody) Stocker, Ty Long, and Karlie, Dylan, Sydney and Ellie Longenberger; and two loyal companions, Robbie and Rufus. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Trey Hughett, in 2015
A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 17, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, with James Poling officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 16, at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton, IN
