Obituary

Kenneth R. "Ken" Isch, 86, of Bluffton, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 10, 2019, at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.

Ken was born in Adams County on Jan. 22, 1933, to Joe R. and Minnie (Aeschliman) Isch.  He married Carolyne M. Moser in Bluffton on June 17, 1956; she survives.

A 1951 graduate of Berne French High School, Ken served in the United States Army in Korea from 1954 until 1955.  He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church and was a livestock and grain farmer for many years.  He also worked as a systems administrator and data processor for several companies, including Home Dairy in Berne, Rea Magnet Wire and Summit Bank in Ft. Wayne, along with the Wayne Township Trustee's Office.  He recently had served as the Lancaster Township Trustee for the past 4½ years, retiring from that role in June of 2019.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by two sons, Jeff (Karen) Isch and Jim (Rachel) Isch, both of Bluffton; four daughters, Jodi (Jody) Holloway and Jeni Mattmuller, both of Bluffton, Juli (Jon) Kaehr of Decatur, and Janean (Hal) Kipfer of Lemont, IL; 28 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucile Frauhiger and Betty (Bill) Longenberger, both of Bluffton.

Aside from his parents, Ken was preceded in death by five brothers, Ervin, Walter, Alvin, Glen, and Hubert Isch; and three sisters, Mildred Krill, Irene Neuenschwander, and Viola Gerber.

Visitation will be Friday, July 12, 2019, from 1:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be Saturday, July 13 th , at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.  John Reinhard and Mark Gerber will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, with military graveside rites provided by the American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the United States Army Honor Guard.
