Justine L. Baumgartner, 89, of Bluffton, died at 10 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Baumgartner was born in Adams County on Aug. 13, 1921, to Joseph and Martha (Aeschliman) Liechty. She married Paul N. Baumgartner in Bluffton on May 16, 1942; he preceded her in death on Oct 25, 2000. Mrs. Baumgartner was a housewife, and also worked for Thermatron in Fort Wayne for 30 years. She was a 4-H leader, volunteered at the Caylor-Nickel Medical Center, and American Red Cross. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Surviving relatives include two sons, Dennie (Sarah) Baumgartner of Berne and David Baumgartner of Bluffton; two grandchildren, Heidi (Darren) Kloepper and Holly (Shawn Swartz) Baumgartner; nine great-grandchildren, Madison, Caroline, Sarah Jane, Joseph, Daniel, Will, and Tate Kloepper, and Sequoia Rose and Elijah Baumgartner. Mrs. Baumgartner was preceded by two Sisters Josephine Meyer and Marge Vagi and two Brothers Clinton and Albert Dubach. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb 5, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, and from 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, at the church with Edward Schwartz and Phil Stettner officiating. Burial is at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
