Juanita W. "Bet" Leonard, 87,of Bluffton, died at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at River Terrace Estates. Mrs. Leonard was born in Hamilton County on Oct. 16, 1922 to Luther Earl and Mildred (Marshino)Powell. She married Philip A.Leonard in Bluffton on Sept. 18,1946; he preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1990. A 1940 graduate of Carmel High School and a 1942 graduate of International Business College, Mrs. Leonard worked as secretary/bookkeeper for Standard Plastics, which was founded by her husband. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Surviving relatives include two sons, Craig (Elizabeth) Leonard and Philip E. (Candace) Leonard, both of Bluffton; one sister, Guelda Williams of Bluffton; and three granddaughters. Mrs. Leonard was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Ted Powell. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
