Joyce I. Baumgartner, 88, of Bluffton, passed away Friday evening, June 19, 2020, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Joyce was born on March 8, 1932, in Wells County, to William G. and Lizzy (Schwartz) Neuenschwander. She married Howard L. Baumgartner in Bluffton on March 11, 1951; he preceded her in death on June 10, 2018.
A 1950 graduate of Lancaster High School, Joyce was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She was a bookkeeper and co-owner of The Print Shop and Office Supply in Bluffton for many years. She also enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends, she especially enjoyed socializing with others at Christian Care Retirement Community. Joyce was a member of Happy Hours Circle potluck group.
She is survived by a son, Craig (Beth) Baumgartner of Albion, IN, four daughters, Beverly (Bob) Jolloff, Mary (Len) Francesi, and Julie (Steve) Schwartz, all of Bluffton, and Joy (Brian) Tonner of Decatur; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Frauhiger of Bluffton.
Aside from her husband and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by six sisters, Virgil Isch, Ellen Fiechter, Anna Frauhiger, Ada Gerber, Martha Heyerly and Lucille Grandlienard; and four brothers, Walter, William, John and Charles Neuenschwander.
Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and social distancing restrictions, a private family visitation will be held at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 with private family services being held at 3:00 PM at the funeral home, Steve Frauhiger and Doyle Frauhiger will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Adams County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Care Retirement Community.
