Jonathan D. Boyd, 63, of Poneto, passed away Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Oct. 20, 1950, in Princeton, W.Va. to Dolphus B. Boyd and Bessie Myers Boyd. He married Judy K. Boyd Sept. 28, 1975, in Liberty Center. She preceded him in death June 14, 2014. Jonathan worked at Majestic in Huntington for several years. He served in the United States Army. Survivors include two sons, Brian A. Boyd of San Antonio, Texas and James D. Boyd of Poneto; a stepson, Brent A. (Lani) Springer of Poneto; one grandson, Chris J. Boyd of Poneto; four sisters, Jean Tupin of Crowley, Texas, Peggy Sue Julian of Jefferson, Md., Betty Wolf of Indiana, Pa., and Gretta Blair of San Diego, Calif.; and one brother, Pat Boyd of Thomasville, N.C. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Jim Poling officiating. Calling hours are 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service Thursday. Military rites will be performed by the United States Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton. Burial will be at a later date.
