Jill E. Gilbert, 61, of Uniondale, passed away Sunday evening, Oct. 21, 2018, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Jill was born in Columbia City, on Feb. 16, 1957, to Robert L. Haney and Joy J. (Pettigrew).
She married Terry E. Gilbert on Oct. 11, 1975 in Columbia City, he survives. Jill worked with her husband in their family owned business, TGM Manufacturing as an Office Manager in Uniondale. She was a 1975 Columbia City High School graduate. Jill was a member of Hope Missionary Church, where she was involved with many activities with the church. She collected Precious Moments and liked gardening her flowers. Jill enjoyed spending time with her family, she especially loved being around her grandchildren.
Survivors include, her husband, Terry and her father, Robert; one son, Jeremy Gilbert of Uniondale; a daughter, Jamie (Dan) Barnes of Sidney, OH; a brother, Mark (Mary) Haney of Fort Wayne; a sister, Dawn McDevitt of Columbia City, six grandchildren, Caleb Pugh, Dustin Drill, Jackson Drill, Samantha Krider, Daniel Barnes and Riley Barnes.
She was preceded in death by one brother in law, Steve McDevitt, her mother, Joy J. Haney.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, from 2:00 – 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held Friday, Oct. 26, 2018, at 10:30 AM, at Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton, 429 E. Dustman Rd, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Gary Aupperle will officiate. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery in Uniondale.
Memorial contributions may be made to Helping Hands or Operation Christmas Child.
