Jerry Max Grissell, 83, of Hamilton, IN, passed away on July 25, 2017, at Hospice of Dayton Ohio.
Jerry was born February 8, 1934, in Jay County, Indiana, to Charles W. and Delories V. (Cart) Grissell. He was the brother to the late Charles "Bud" Grissell of Upland, Indiana.
He graduated from Pennville High School in 1952. He worked at Feuters and Sons for 12 years, and then was employed by the Airplane Service Station in Bluffton from 1966-1980. In 1980 Jerry then decided to purchase the Airplane Service Station and be the owner/operator from 1980-1992. After retirement, he worked for Reed's Ace Hardware in Bluffton for ten years. He had the privilege of meeting so many people throughout the many years in business and family life. He never forgot a name or face, and was a friend to all.
He spent his retired years with his wife on Ball Lake in Hamilton, Indiana, enjoying fishing, woodworking, maintaining his garden/flowers and beautiful yard, visiting with friends-neighbors, and spending time with family.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Sue (Ulmer) Grissell of Hamilton, IN; daughters, Diane Meeks of Dayton, OH, Joan Brumley of Hockley, TX, and Gail (Ronnie) Mollett of Anderson, IN; a step-daughter, Wendy (Ron) Meeks Huston of Monroeville, IN; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delories, along with his brother, Charles "Bud" Grissell.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Dayton for their loving care and support.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Bluffton Animal Shelter (c/o City of Bluffton).
