Jeffrey C. Gilson, 64, of Bluffton, passed away Monday afternoon, April 27, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Jeffrey was born in Whitman, MA, on August 8, 1961, to James “Jim” and Jean (Ferguson) Gilson. Both parents preceded him in death. He married Debra White in Marquette, MI on December 16, 1984. She survives in Bluffton.

A 1980 graduate of Whitman High School, Jeffrey went on to serve in the United States Air Force for 10 years and served during the Gulf War, he was a Staff Sergeant and served as a tractor trailer instructor for the military. After leaving the military Jeffrey worked for Lowes in Fort Wayne and transferred to the Bluffton location when it first opened.

Jeffery enjoyed tinkering in his shed, auctions, playing his racing games, fishing and mowing his lawn, but what he enjoyed most was his family. He was very proud and passionate about his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made sure everyone was taken care of, especially his wife Debra.

In addition to his wife, Jeffrey is survived by two daughters, Christina (Nuno) Nunes of New Bedford, MA, and Brittney (Justin) Landis of Branson, MO; a son, Michael (Erica) Newton-Gilson of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Pete (Janice) Gilson of Whitman, MA, Douglas (Cathy) Gilson of Florence, SC, and Gregory (Donna) Gilson of Northport, FL; a sister, Darlene Gilson of Easton, MA; along with 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Per Jeffrey’s wishes, there are no public services planned at this time.
