Jeanne E. Gerber, 78, of rural Decatur, passed away Thursday afternoon, Apr. 15, 2021, at Christian Care Retirement Community.

Jeanne was born in Bluffton on July 7, 1942, to Ezra and Mahilda "Tillie" Kaehr.  She married Arlen L. Gerber in Celina, OH, on May 12, 1989; he survives.

A 1960 graduate of Adams Central High School, Jeanne graduated from Warner College of Beauty Culture in 1961.  She was a lifelong homemaker and also was a beautician for 30 years.  She also assisted Arlen in operating the family farm.

Jeanne was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.  She was very artistic and enjoyed cooking, decorating, and working outside, especially landscaping.

In addition to her husband, Jeanne is survived by four sons, John (Trudy) Eisenmann of Decatur, Tom (Rachelle) Eisenmann of Fishers, Dan Wable of Decatur, and Dave Wable of Monroe; three step-daughters, Jodi (Courtney) Pfister of Bluffton, Jami (Dan) Murray of Bluffton, and Wendi (Rod) Gephart of Decatur; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Karen) Kaehr of Decatur; and four sisters, Carole Meyer of Alto, MI, Mary Jo (Bob) Troxel of Bluffton, Joy Birch of Ft. Wayne, and Sharon Imel of Bluffton.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Lance Pfister.

Visitation will be Monday, Apr. 19, 2021, from 1:00 until 8:00 PM at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be Tuesday, Apr. 20, 2021, at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.  Doyle Frauhiger and Chad Gerber will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Adams County.

Masks are optional for attendance at the visitation and funeral service.
