Obituary

Martha "Jean" Osborn, 67, of Bluffton, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at Lutheran Hospital. Jean was born in Bluffton Jan. 16, 1948, to Milo Drabenstot and Margaret Cossairt Drabenstot. She married Richard E. "Dick" Osborn in Bluffton Sept. 28, 1975; he survives. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1966 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Jean worked at the Dutch Mill beside her mother after high school. She was also an Avon representative for many years. Later she obtained her real estate license and managed property for several years. Jean was also a coast to coast truck driver, along with her husband, and truly enjoyed traveling the country, getting paid to visit with family and friends, and site see. After this she owned the Bluffton Basket Co. and finished up her working career by working at the Indiana Auto Auction. Jean was known by her loved ones for her garage sale abilities. She could spot bargains at a glance and often bought unusual items to send to family and friends. She was also an avid animal lover and had a true soft spot for orphaned and injured animals. Jean was a member of the Wells County Friends of the Shelter. Survivors include her children, Scott Osborn of Bluffton, Suzanne (Bruce) Harnish of Indianapolis, Rick (Denise) Osborn of Tennessee, Craig (Gina) Osborn of Fort Wayne, Chris (Tammy) Osborn of Bluffton, Jeff (Janet) Osborn of Ossian, Brenda Gardner of Bluffton, and Debbie (Tom) Graham of Bluffton; 15 grandchildren, including Danielle (Deric) Ehler of Ossian, Keaton Osborn of Bluffton, and Anthony Hall of Virginia; and two great-grandchildren, Carson Ehler and Briella Ehler. She was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Thompson, and a grandchild. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Pastor Arley Higginbotham officiating. Calling hours are Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
