James L. Lehman, age 84, of Bluffton, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 18, 2018, at Heritage Pointe.

James was born in Adams County, on June 12, 1934, to Harold and Gladys (Dubach) Lehman. He married Martha J. (Lewis) Lehman, on June 18, 1955, she preceded him in death on Feb. 8, 2007.

He was a 1952 Petroleum High School graduate. James worked at Tokheim Corporation in the maintenance department for 42 years. He retired from Tokheim in 1994. James also worked at Resource Maintenance as their vacuum sweeper repairman. He was a member of the Sonlight Wesleyan Church in Bluffton.

James enjoyed riding motorcycles and watching Old Westerns. He liked watching IU, Bluffton Tigers and the Pacer's basketball games.

Survivors include, three daughters, Rita Dean of Bluffton, Shirley Swinford of Fort Wayne and Linda Lehman of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Aside from his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by, two daughters, Kathy Mills and Deb Harris; a grandson, Shane Mettler; one great-grandson, Trevor Smith.

Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, from 12:00 – 3:00 PM, with a funeral service starting at 3:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
