James A. Kleinknight, 92, passed away Thursday evening, December 3, 2020, at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton.

Jim was born in Bluffton, IN., on June 6, 1928, to Chalmer E. and Glenetta (Elzey) Kleinknight, both parents preceded him in death. He married Ethel May (Meyer) in Bluffton on May 23, 1957, she preceded him in death on November 17, 2001.

Jim graduated from Lancaster High School in 1946. Following graduation, he worked at Franklin Electric in the maintenance dept. retiring in 1990 after 44 years of service, in addition, he worked on the family farm. He attended Bluffton Church of the Nazarene. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and was an avid sports fan, especially IU and the Cubs.

He is survived by two children, one son; Phillip (Penny) Kleinknight of Bluffton, one daughter; Lu Ann DeBolt of Fort Mill, SC., six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one son; Scott G. Kleinknight and two sisters; Jean Sheets and Martha Carnall.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, private family visitation and funeral services have been planned .A private family graveside will take place at the Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 43 of Decatur, IN.
