James W. Anderson, 84, of Craigville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. James was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Huntington County to Willis D. Anderson and Mary Genevieve Ware Anderson. He married Janice A. Julian Dec. 27, 1975, in Ossian; she survives. He served in the U.S. Army in 1952. He was a machinist at Franklin Electric for 40 years, retiring in 1992, and a member of Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons, Brian J. (Berenice) Anderson of Ossian and Brandon (Tara) Anderson of Craigville; daughters, Julie Dietrich of Ossian, Paula J. (Randy) Brown of Angola, and Jodie (Scott) Shutt of Uniondale; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Philip Anderson of California and Noel (Ruby) Anderson of Fort Wayne; and sisters, Kay (Ralph) Beals of Florida, and Karen (Howard) Penrod of Missouri. He was preceded in death by a son, James S. Anderson; a daughter, Pamela Anderson; and a sister, Carol Mounsey. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dennis Leinbach officiating. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home, and Tuesday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The American Legion Post 111, along with the United States Army, will conduct military rites. Memorials may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or Lancaster Chapel United Methodist Church.
