Jakob M. Gerber, 16, of rural Bluffton, passed away at 11:36 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He was born Nov. 10, 1995, in Fort Wayne, to Kip M. and Jill R. (Ringger) Gerber. He attended Life Community Church. Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Aerika Gerber and Aisha (Brett) Pfister, both of Bluffton; two brothers, Braden Gerber and Marcus Gerber, both of Bluffton; a nephew, Owen Gerber; his maternal grandparents, Kent and Jan (Gerber) Ringger of Bluffton; his paternal grandparents, Mike and Cheryl (Isch) Gerber of Bluffton; and a paternal great-grandfather, Floyd Gerber of Bluffton Calling will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Life Community Church. Services will be held at Life Community Church at 3 p.m. Sunday with Kent Ringger and Chad Ringger officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery at Bluffton. The family requests no gifts or flowers, but asks instead that a donation be given to Heartline Ministries through Life Community Church. Heartline is a faithbased ministry operating in Haiti, which is in the process of building a hospital in Port-au-Prince. The Goodwin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
