Herman "Gene" Stotlar, 71, of Uniondale, died at 3:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at Hospice Home of Fort Wayne. Mr. Stotlar was born in Fort Wayne on Sept. 20, 1940, to Roy S. and Goldie (Culp) Stotlar. He married Diane E. Knotts on Oct. 31, 1981, in Ossian; she preceded him in death on May 7, 2008. Mr. Stotlar was a retired salesman who worked for wholesale florist Gassafy Florists for over 40 years. Surviving relatives include three sons, David Stotlar, Randy (Corinna) Stotlar of Montpelier and Tim (Becky) Stotlar of Bluffton; nine daughters, Donna Anderson of Bluffton, Robin (Kenny) Bolt of Batesville, Ark., Kimberly Burns of Uniondale, Sandy (Robert) Martinez of Monroe, Shelly Rea of Memphis, Tenn., Sheri (Ron) Disher of Tempe, Ariz., Angela Sprinkle of Huntington, Jamie (Landel) Tipple of Wabash and Tara Stotlar of Columbia City; one sister, Louise Reynolds of Bluffton; a brother-in-law, Ken (Judy) Knotts of Bryant; 27 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Stotlar was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Howard Christopher; one brother, Tommy Stotlar; and one sister, Mary Wilkinson. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the funeral home with Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
