Hellen E. Maynard, 82, of Ossian, died at 12:50 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her daughter's residence. She was born in Paragould, Ark., on Aug. 24, 1929, to A.H. "Bud" and Emma (McCary) Ellington. She married Lawrence "Jack" Maynard on Aug. 13, 1968, in Bibb County, Ga.; he preceded her in death on June 23, 1998. Mrs. Maynard was a homemaker, and a member of Hope Missionary Church. Surviving relatives include two sons, Lonnie (Pauletta) Robbins of Marquette Heights, Ill., and Donald (Susie) Robbins of Orlando, Fla.; four daughters, Sharon (Tom) Shaughnessy of Peoria, Ill., Patricia (Ernie) Cook of Orlando, Fla., Phyllis (Johannes) Hansen of Ossian, and Debra Maynard-Horton of Ossian; three step children, Tommy (Dee) Maynard of McKenzie, Tenn., Karry (Ann) Maynard of Gallatin, Tenn., and Diane (David) Ross of Clarksville, Tenn.; 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one greatgreat-grandchild. Calling hours will be from 2 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home with Gary Aupperle officiating. Burial will be at the Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando, Fla. Preferred memorials are to Hope Missionary Church.
