Harry W. Krummen, 91, of Bluffton, died at 2:55 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation. Mr. Krummen was born in Wells County on Aug.20, 1917 to Ferdinand and Mary (Aschliman) Krummen. He was a lifelong farmer and worked asa machinist at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 20 years. Mr. Krummen enjoyed farming, the outdoors, gardening, and raising fruit trees on his farm. He was an avid deer watcher and wildlife conservationist, and developed walnut tree groves on his property. Surviving relatives include one son, Jim Krummen of Bluffton; one brother, Ervin (Lavera) Krummen of Bluffton; one sister, Nina Aschliman of Bluffton; and three grandchildren. Mr. Krummen was preceded in death by one son,Thomas Wayne Krummen; three brothers, Albert, Sam and John Krummen; and three sisters, Elizabeth Bertsch, Clara Fiechter and Alice Baumgartner. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ryan Dalrymple officiating. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
