Obituary

Harry W. Gerber, age 94, of Bluffton, passed away Monday evening, Oct. 8, 2018, at Adams County Memorial Hospital.

Harry was born in Adams County, on Sept. 30, 1924, to Lewis and Julia L. (Maller) Gerber. He married Ada M. (Schwartz) Gerber in Adams County on Oct. 27, 1946, she survives.

A lifetime farmer in Adams and Wells county. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Bluffton. He enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family and his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Ada M., two sons, Rex (Cheryl) Gerber of Bluffton and Tim (Sheryl) Gerber of Firestone CO; two daughters, Joni (Dale) Schwartz of Decatur and Cathy Stucky of Monroe; a brother Wilmer J. Gerber of Bluffton; 8 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and Robert Gerber; two sisters, Marie Kipfer and Devona Longenberger, a son- in- law, Rick Stucky; a daughter-in-law, Lavon Gerber.

Visitation will be Thursday Oct. 11, 2018, from noon until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Chad Gerber and Ron Kipfer will officiate. Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Care Retirement Community or Rick Stucky Community Enrichment Fund.
