Goldie M. Stettner, age 102, passed away Friday afternoon October 27, 2017 at Christian Care Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN

Born in Adams County, IN  July 24, 1915 to Amos and Mary (Maller) Bertsch, Goldie moved to Elgin, IL during the Depression with her family.  She married Howard W. Stettner on November 16, 1941 in Arlington, Virginia, Howard and Goldie moved to Ft. Wayne, IN in 1944 where they raised their family.  Howard preceded her in death on November 11, 2007

She was a 1933 graduate of Elgin High School, she worked for Howard's Hallmark and Gift Shop in downtown Ft. Wayne for many years. She worked in sales for Russell Stover in the gift wrap services for many Hallmark stores. She was awarded Gold Crown Lady in 1998 from Hallmark Corporation.

She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Bluffton, IN

She is survived by a son, Phillip (Maureen) Stettner of Bluffton, IN, a daughter, Sharon (Bill) Dotterer of Lamar, MO    8  grandchildren and  30 great grandchildren. Sister in law, Alice Bertsch of Sebastian, FL , Brother in law, William "Bud" Roberts of Brevard, NC

Goldie was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Harry Bertsch and Sylvan Bertsch.  2 sisters, LaVera Roberts and Viola Friedman.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday (October 31, 2017)  at the Bluffton North Apostolic Christian Church , Bluffton, IN.  Jeff Waibel and Bob Dotterer will officiate services.

Visitation will be held on Monday at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. till service time at the church.

Graveside services will take place at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, in Adams County, IN.

Memorials can be made to Christian Care Retirement Community, 720 East Dustman Rd. Bluffton, IN.
