Geraldine M. Aschliman, 88, of Hickory, N.C., and formerly of Bluffton and Vera Cruz, passed away at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, at the Trinity Ridge Lutheran Home in Hickory, N.C. She was a homemaker and was employed at Franklin Electric for 10 years. She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Adams County, to Calvin Rauch and Leah Steffen Rauch. She married Gerald Aschliman June 30, 1951, in Bluffton. He preceded her in death June 21, 1985. Survivors include four sisters, Evelyn Meyer and Freda LaMott, both of Monroeville; Garnett Martin of Bluffton; and Doris (Don) McClurg of Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with Larry Sprinkle officiating. Calling hours are from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the memorial chapel. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the First Church of Christ.
