Gary Dale Engle Sr., 62, of Bluffton, died at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Engle was born in Bucyrus, Ohio, on April 11, 1948, to Harry and Virginia (Staiger) Engle. He married Becky Sue Stebing in Bluffton on May 12, 1964; she survives. Mr. Engle was a retired truck driver who had worked for Schaefer Trucking. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Decatur, IN. Surviving relatives include his mother, Virginia Miller, of Bluffton; two sons, Gary D. (Dorinda) Engle Jr. of Uniondale and Gary (April) Christian of Bluffton; and one daughter, Tammy Sue (Jesse) Marley of Bluffton; one brother, Larry (Rhonda) Staiger of Houghton, La.; seven grandchildren, Chastity Stout, Kyle Engle, Heather Engle, Bailey Engle, Cadence Engle, Chloe Engle and Mason Engle; and three great grandchildren, Summer Brubaker, Nike Stout and Asher Stout. Mr. Engle was preceded in death by his father; his step father, Alfred Miller; and one sister, Nancee Hunter. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, and from 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home with Larry Sprinkle officiating. Burial is at Fairview Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the family.
