Gail Edward Frus, 75, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2015, at his residence. Gail was born Dec. 7, 1939, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Vera M. Beverland Frus and Harry E. Frus. Gail started working for the Indiana Bell Telephone in 1966 and retired in 1994. He was also a full-time Wells County farmer from 1970 to 1999. A 1958 graduate of Cromwell H.S. in Iowa, he served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1968 as a weapons mechanic. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and farming. He also enjoyed Nascar racing, riding motorcycles and fishing. Gail was a member of the American Legion Post 468 in Berne, as well as the Moose Lodge and Elks Lodge in Bluffton. Survivors include three daughters, Tina Frus of North Port, Fla., Mrs. Shawn (Bobby) Carroll of Lafayette, and Mrs. Dee Ann (Shawn) Perry of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Candy (Jorge) Narvaez, Lacey (Steve) Pastore, and Ashton Perry; two greatgrandchildren; a sister, Pat (Dave) Turner of Ames, Iowa; a brother, Jack (Kathy) Frus of LeMars, Iowa; three nieces; and two nephews. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with James Poling officiating. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, and Friday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery, and the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton will conduct military graveside rites, along with the United States Air Force. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the Bluffton-Wells Animal Shelter with checks payable to the Friends of the Shelter.
