Evelyn Sprinkle, age 95, a long-time former Bluffton resident, passed away Tuesday morning, Apr. 21, 2020, at her son's home in Moore, SC.

Evelyn was born in Huntington County on Feb. 5, 1925, to Charles and Bertha (Caupp) Best.  She married Robert Sprinkle in Huntington County on Sept. 25, 1943.  Bob preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2009.

Evelyn was a long-time member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton, where she served as the church's pianist and organist for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and also co-owned and operated, alongside her husband, the Main Motel in Bluffton for 28 years.

Survivors include her son, Larry (Penny) Sprinkle of Moore, SC; a daughter, Joan (William) Kashner of Ft. Wayne; along with six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by four brothers, Jesse, Fern, Howard, and Gilbert Best; and one sister, Marie Overholt.

Private family services are being held at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial in Bluffton (where she served as the organist for almost 40 years), with Dennis Wood officiating. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
