Evelyn A. Shedd, 99, of Bluffton, died at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation-Meadowvale in Bluffton. Mrs. Shedd had served as a nurse's aide at Wells Community Hospital in Bluffton for more than 30 years. She was born May 5, 1914, in Wells County, to Benjamin L. Bennett and the former Gabe Boltin. She married Arthur L. Shedd March 26, 1932, in Bluffton; her husband preceded her in death Jan. 5, 1979. Survivors include a son, Charles (Dorothy) Shedd of Ossian; three grandchildren, Charlie Shedd Jr. of Ossian, Lisa (Mike) Decker of Bluffton, and Pam Shedd of Alabama; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Carolyn Liddy and Esther M. Niblick, both of Bluffton. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Donald "Dusty" Shedd. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Funeral Home in Bluffton. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, with Pastor Jerry Qualls officiating. Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
