Obituary

Josephine Aschliman, 90, of Bluffton, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at the Christian Care Retirement Community. Mrs. Aschliman was a nurse's assistant at the Caylor-Nickel Medical Center for 38 years. She was a 1938 graduate of Petroleum High School and attended Six Mile Church. She was born Feb. 20, 1920, in Jay County, to Lester Paxson and Mary Hartup Paxson. Survivors include two sons, John (Cheryl) Aschliman of Bluffton and James (Brooke) Aschliman of Huntington; two daughters, Joyce Wilson and Janet (Roger) Dunnuck, both of Bluffton; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Virginia Conkling of Portland. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph Paxson, John Paxson, Frank Paxson, and James Paxson, and two sisters, Freda Christman and Ethel Mae Paxson. Calling will be from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Pastor Bruce Holland officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery.
