Edwin "Wayne" Miller, 85, of Bluffton, passed away at 5:56 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center. He was born in Waynedale on Oct. 26, 1926, to William A. and Emma R. (Hulvey) Miller. He married Cynthia S. Milholland in Ossian on March 31, 1966; she survives. A 1944 graduate of Ossian High School, Mr. Miller spent 46 years working in the automobile industry, mainly as a mechanic, including the Ford Garage and Chevrolet Garage in Ossian and then retiring from Reimschisel Ford after 23 years of service. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army, from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of the American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton and Grace Baptist Church of Bluffton. He loved watching his children and grandchildren at sporting events. He was an avid race fan and enjoyed attending car races with his two sons. He enjoyed staying busy, especially spending time working around the house with his wife, along with his hobby, puzzle books. Other surviving relatives include two sons, William "Bill" (Lisa) Miller of Ossian and Michael A. (Dawn) Miller of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Ben, Alex and Emily Miller, all of Bluffton; one step granddaugher, Kristy Taylor; and several step great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was also preceded in death by three sisters, infant Mary Miller, and Helen Cobbum and Evelyn Henly. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Doug McClure officiating. Burial is at Oak Lawn Cemetery, in Ossian, with graveside rites performed by American Legion Post 111 and the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Preferred memorials are to Grace Baptist Church or an organization of the donor's choice
