Edwin C. Baublet, 65, of Poneto, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Mr. Baublet was born in Wabash on March 11, 1946, to Carl E. and Lura M. (Comstock) Baublet. He married Phyllis Dulworth on Sept. 26, 1965; she preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 1969. He married Billie M. (McCoin) Baublet in Wells County on Aug. 5, 1978; she survives. A 1964 graduate of Liberty Center High School, Mr. Baublet worked for Chrysler in Kokomo as a machine repairman for 25 years, retiring in 2008. He also worked for Corning Glass in Bluffton from 1965 to 1984. He belonged to Wheels of Yesteryear and Warren Tractor Club. Other surviving relatives include his mother, of Bluffton; three sons, Edgar C. (Angela) Baublet, Donnie L. (Debbie) McCoin of Hartford City and Randy (Marion) McCoin of Hartford City; three daughters, Lori (James R.) Poling of Petroleum, Brenda K. McCoin of Hartford City and Penny A. (Mark) Lancaster of Poneto; one brother, Max D. Baublet of Poneto; and 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Mr. Baublet was also preceded in death by his father; one brother, Edgar C. Baublet; and one sister, Barbara S. Soper. Calling hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, and from 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with James R. Poling officiating. Burial is at Six Mile Cemetery, in Bluffton. Preferred memorials are to the Kidney Foundation.
