Edith Joan Pettit, 87, of Bluffton, IN, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 7, 2020, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Edith was born in Montpelier, IN, on March 1, 1933, to Harry K. and Ethel (Dewitt) Johnson, both parents preceded her in death. She married Donald E. Pettit in Hartford City, IN, on July 2, 1950, he preceded her in death on August 31, 2015. Edith was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time at the lake with family, she enjoyed fishing and was a great cook.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie Shaker of Bloomington, IN; two sons, Donald Pettit of Bluffton and Lonnie (Cindy) Pettit of Brevard, NC.; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Jack Johnson.

At Edith's request, cremation will be performed at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton, Indiana with private interment at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.

No public services will be held.
