Edith A. Myers, 92, a resident of River Terrace Estates, died there at 7:02 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014. She had been employed at Myers Orchard, her family's business, and was involved in the restaurant there for several years. She had also been employed at Azar's in Fort Wayne . She was a graduate of Ossian High School. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed collecting antiques. She was born June 19, 1922, in Allen County, to Dick Anderson and Bertha Allen Anderson. She married Richard M. Myers Nov. 14, 1942, in Bluffton; her husband preceded her in death June 26, 1976. Survivors include a son, Rick M. (Pamela) Myers of Bluffton; a daughter, Kathy (James) Lantz of Decatur; two grandchildren, Cybil (Joe) Dunnuck and Chad (Stephanie) Lantz; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Bernard Anderson, Kimsey Anderson, Ivan Anderson, and Orville Anderson, and three sisters, Monice Hilsmier, Loretta Craig, and Barbara McMurtry. Mrs. Myers was the last of her family. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Gerald Moreland officiating. Burial will be at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
