Earleen B. Steffen, 85, Decatur, died at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Adams County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Steffen had been employed as the treasurer for the Adams Central School Corp. She was a 1943 graduate of Lancaster High School and was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. She was born May 27, 1925, in Wells County, to William Frauhiger and Bertha Fiechter Frauhiger. She married Louis Steffen April 1, 1945, at the Apostolic Christian Church East; her husband preceded her in death Feb. 16, 2005. Survivors include two sons, Kent Steffen of Monroe and Keith (Marie) Steffen of Oregon City, Ore.; three grandchildren, Daniel, Rachael, and Isaac; and a brother, Bill (Betty) Frauhiger of Bluffton. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar Frauhiger, Roy Frauhiger, Sylva Frauhiger, and Ora Frauhiger, and eight sisters, Ellen Frauhiger, Ines Bauman, Erna Kipfer, Aldine Clayton, Gladys Frauhiger, Cathleen Reynolds, Rosa Scott, and Delila Brickley. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Apostolic Christian Church East. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 2010, at the Apostolic Christian Church East with John Reinhard and Steve Frauhiger officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Apostolic Christian Church.
