Earl F. Newnum, 69, of Bluffton passed away at 7:50 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born June 6, 1945, in Russell, Ark., to William and Martha Neunum. He married Linda Caley on June 12, 1965; she survives. Earl was a long-time supervisor in the Shellcore department at Sterling Casting up until the time of the company's closing. He also was owner and operator of Newnum's Casting Paint for several years. He is survived by three sons, Brian (Pam) Newnum, of Markle, Tom (April) Newnum, of Huntington, and Brad (Rebecca) Newnum of Springfield, Va.; one daughter, Sherry Retherford of Bluffton; 12 grandchildren, Chase (Caitlin), Coty (Shelby), Heather, Jordan, Dylan, Carly, Cassandra, Paige, Katie, Emma, Emily, and Mary; five great-grandsons, Tyler, Harley, Justin, Remington, and Logan; five brothers, Clyde Newnum of Markle, Gilbert Newnum of Conway, Ark., Joe Newnum of Judsonia, Ark., Manco of Malden, Mo., and Johnny of Farmington, N.M.; three sisters, Rebecca Crain of Bradford, Arkansas, Donella McKnight of Tallapoosa, Mo., and Marie Gorman of Bradford, Ark. Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William Newnum and George Henry Newnum. Services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 12:00 noon, at Six Mile Church in Bluffton, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Visitation will also be held Friday, from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Burial will be at Six Mile Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the American Cancer Society of Indiana.
