Obituary

E. Berneil Walsh, 88, a native of Wells County, died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at the Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville, Ind. Mrs. Walsh was a beautician for more than 30 years and was the owner of the Walsh Tack Apparel Shop in Bluffton. She was a 1944 graduate of Bluffton High School and the Ravenscroft Beauty College in Fort Wayne. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bluffton and of the Ladies Auxiliary to American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton. She loved to cook and bake. She loved to travel with her husband, spending time in Florida. She was born Jan. 24, 1926, in Wells County, to Alvie Smith and Goldie Roth Smith. She married Edward T. Walsh July 27, 1946, at Yoder; her husband preceded her in death July 22, 1995. Survivors include two sons, Tom (Kay) Walsh of Bluffton and Alan (Chris) Walsh of Nashville, and four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and by three siblings, Richard Smith, LaVerne Smith, and Glenevere Grimm. Calling will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating. Preferred memorials are to the Brown County Health and Living Community, 55 Willow St., Nashville, IN 47448.
