Dorothy M. Sprunger, 94, of Bluffton, passed at 2:20 p.m. Friday September 13, 2013, at River Terrace Estates, Bluffton. She was born on the Maddux family homestead farm in Lancaster Twp., to Charles and Bertha (Graden) Maddux, on July 31, 1919. She married Frederick D. Sprunger April 6, 1941, in the home of her parents . She was very active with Siloam Springs United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. She was also a member of the First Reformed Church in Bluffton, D.A.R, and she was a past member of the Psi Iota Psi Sorority. Dorothy was in the First Kindergarten class in 1924 in Bluffton and later graduated from the Bluffton High School in 1937. In 1937 she was the Harrison Twp. queen candidate for the Wells County Centennial. Surviving in addition to the Husband is one daughter, Susan (Steve) Hart of Huntington; one son F. Thomas (Barbara) Sprunger of Jenks, Okla.; Five grandchildren, Charles (Lynette) Hart, David (Eugenia) Hart, Emily (Michael) Smith, Daniel (Melissa) Sprunger, Mitchell (Heather) Sprunger; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Marilyn Minnich. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. The services will be conducted by Dr. Bryson E. Bell and Rev. Jerry Qualls, with the assistance of Dorothy's brother-in-law, Vaughn Sprunger. Burial will take place after the service at Six Mile Cemetery, Bluffton. Memorials contributions,in Dorothy's name,may be given to the First Reformed Church.
