Dorothy P. Bacon, 90, of Decatur, died at 9 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, at the Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Bacon was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Adams County, to Fredrick Wenger and Sarah Michel Wenger. She married Samuel A. Bacon Jan. 19, 1941, in Fort Wayne; her husband preceded her in death April 22, 2009. She was a 1939 graduate of P.A. Allen High School in Bluffton. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons, Ron (Joan) Bacon of Ossian and Sam (Linda) Bacon of Decatur; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Fred (Edna) Wenger of Bluffton, Norm (Julia) Wenger of Decatur, and Don (Ann) Wenger of Fort Wayne; and two sisters, Joan (Gene) Clanin of Bluffton and Betty Lou Bercot of Berne. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Wenger, and a sister, Mary Shaw. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel in Bluffton. Services will be held at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Jay Cline officiating. Burial will be at the Six Mile Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Ossian First Presbyterian Church.
