Obituary

Doris F. Jost (Dillon) McClurg, 87, formerly of Bluffton, passed away Monday evening, Nov. 2, 2015, at Reid Healthcare Center, in Richmond. Born on April 7, 1928, in Adams County, to Calvin and Leah (Steffen) Rauch, she married Frederick "Fritz" Jost in Bluffton on Oct. 26, 1945; he preceded her in death in 1987. She later married Earl G. Dillion in May of 1988, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2003. Doris later married Donald McClurg in Richmond, on July 13, 2008; he preceded her in death in September of 2014. Doris was a graduate of Bluffton High School and a member of the First Church of Christ in Bluffton. She worked at Caylor-Nickel Clinic as a licensed practical nurse for almost 20 years. While living in Wells County, she was a Girl Scout leader and was very involved with her church, especially with teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was the neighborhood chairperson for the Limber Lost Council and was a volunteer at the Panos Free Clinic and Wells Community Hospital gift shop. Doris is survived by three daughters, Connie (Roger) Keller of Hickory, N.C., Judy Hively of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Sally (Robert) Tyler of Muncie; two stepdaughters, JoAnn (Ron) Payne of Bluffton, and Diane (Joe) Sanders of Kennewick, Wash.; a stepson, Jerold (Cindy) Dillon of Bluffton; along with three sisters, Evelyn Meyer of Monroeville, Garnett Martin of Bluffton, and Freda Lamott of Monroeville. Doris is also survived by eight grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Hart, Kurt (Tammy) Keller, Kari (Devon) Fisher, Rob (Julie) Tyler, April (Doug) Marcum, Andrew (Kristen) Tyler, Nathan (Holly) Hively, and Rachel (Kyle) Cross; 23 great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and 13 step great-grandchildren. Doris was also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Aschliman and Helen L. Rauch. Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dennis Wood officiating. Burial will be at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Eric Vitz Benevolent Fund.
