Doris K. Mayer, 59, of Bluffton, passed away Friday evening, March 27, 2015, at Woodcrest Retirement Community in Decatur, IN. Born in Bluffton, IN, on January 4, 1956, to Russell L. and Betty J. (Osborn) Mayer, her parents precede her in death. Doris was the assistant business manager at the Fort Wayne Embassy for 17 years and then went to work for News Channel 33. She then worked at Masters Heating and Cooling before her illness. She was a 1974 graduate of Bluffton High School. She is survived by two sisters, Helen (Lynn) Ratcliff of Monroe, and Peggy Mayer of Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Russell (Brenda) Mayer of Ossian, and Tim (Joyce) Mayer of Bluffton; along with several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Goodwin - Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel. Services will be Thursday, at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Chaplain Chris Thurow will officiate. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
