Doris J. Fiechter, 92, Bluffton, slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus, her Loving Savior, Monday morning, Feb. 17, 2014, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in St. Cloud, Fla., where she resided the past 16 months. Doris was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Adams County to Levi Frauhiger and Mary Heyerly Frauhiger. She married Melvin Fiechter May 2, 1943, in Bluffton; he preceded her in death July 2, 2010. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Doris was a homemaker who was always serving her family and others. Survivors include her children, Rick (Deb) Fiechter of St. Cloud, Fla., Pat (Lonnie) Bertsch of Decatur, Karen (Steve) Aschliman of Craigville, LouAnn (Bill) Rager of Van Wert, Ohio, and Wanda Moser of Decatur; siblings, Bernice (Alvin) Fiechter of Bluffton and Melvin (Lucille) Frauhiger of Bluffton; 31 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Dwight "Butch" Moser and Mark Moser, and siblings, Harry, Earl, Ivan, Homer, Freeman, Irene Steffen and Carolyn Frauhiger. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at the Apostolic Christian Church East with Doyle Frauhiger and Chad Gerber officiating. Calling hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice of Florida or Christian Care Retirement Community.
