Doris Fiechter, 91, of Bluffton, passed away Thursday afternoon, Feb. 15, 2018, at Christian Care Retirement Community.

Born in Wells County on Jan. 5, 1927, to Jacob and Minnie Baumgartner Tonner, Doris married Dale Fiechter in Bluffton on June 27, 1948; he survives.

Doris was a lifelong homemaker who assisted her husband on the farm.  She also worked at J & R Products in Bluffton.  She was great cook, but especially enjoyed spending time with her family.  Doris was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church.

In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by two daughters, Jeni (Ed) Schwartz of Bluffton and Gloria (Phil) Grant of Antwerp, OH; two sons, Tony (Peg) Fiechter of Bluffton and Kevin Fiechter of Ft. Wayne; 14 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marcella Yergler of Bluffton.

Aside from her parents, Doris was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Abilene Marie Fiechter; two brothers, Curtis and Harry Tonner; and three sisters, Cordelia Aschliman, Lucille Reinhard, and Mary Klopfenstein.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, from 1:00 until 7:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton.  Services will be held Monday morning, Feb. 19, 2018, at 10:30 AM, at the Apostolic Christian Church East, with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church.  John Reinhard and Ron Kipfer will officiate.  Burial will follow at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Bluffton.
