Donald "Don" K.
Springer
Sep 6, 1954 — Aug 18, 2026
Kingsland
Donald “Don” K. Springer, 71, of Kingsland, passed away Tuesday morning, August 18, 2026, at his residence.
Don was born in Bluffton on September 6, 1954, to Charles B. and Dorothy J. (Witzeman) Springer. Both parents preceded him in death. He married Gladys A. Wyatt at the Salamonie Church of the Brethren in Huntington County on October 27, 1979; she survives.
A 1973 graduate of Norwell High School, Don later attended Anthem Career Center in Fort Wayne. He worked at Franklin Electric in Bluffton for 21 years, spending a majority of that time in the tool and die department. He then worked as a machinist at Workrite in Fort Wayne for 26 years, until retiring in January of 2021.
Don attended Murray Missionary Church in Wells County. He wasn't a man of many words, but his love for his family spoke for itself. He found joy in his garden and a good game, but most of all, he loved simply being with his family.
In addition to his wife, Don is survived by two daughters, Valarie (Ken) Bennett of Summerville, SC, and Calley Springer (Todd Maxwell) of St. Petersburg, FL; three sons, Adam Springer of Craigville, AJ Springer of Kingsland, and Alex Springer (Mercede Gonzalez) of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Shirley (Chuck) Neuenschwander of Ossian and Gloria (Terry) Gilbert of Markle; and a brother, Rodney (Lynette) Springer of Bridgewater, MA. Don is also survived by eight grandchildren, Bailey Bennett, and Jazmine, Jaimee, Nevaeh, Sali, Philly, Zlati, and Santi Gonzalez-Springer, along with a great-grandson, Paxton Bennett.
Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2026, from 1:00 until 4:00 PM, at Murray Missionary Church, 1117 N. Washington St., Bluffton, IN, followed immediately by a funeral service at 4:00 P.M. Pastor Brad Kittle will officiate.
Goodwin – Harnish Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
