Neuenschwander
March 16, 1948 – December 25, 2016
Donald L. Neuenschwander, 68, of Ossian, passed away Sunday evening, Dec. 25, 2016, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Decatur, IN, on Mar. 16, 1948, to Carl E. and Hazel M. (Overmier) Neuenschwander, he married Judith A. Baker on Mar. 18, 1967, at the Zanesville United Methodist Church; she survives.
Don attended Lancaster High School and served in the United States Army as a sergeant in the infantry from 1968 to 1970. He worked as an inspector for Zollner Pistons in Fort Wayne for 40 years, retiring in 2005 and was a member of the Bluffton American Legion Post 111.
He loved being outdoors, enjoying things like hunting, fishing, and mowing his lawn. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Donald is survived by two sons, Shane L. (Traci) Neuenschwander of Markle, and Nicholas N. Neuenschwander of Ossian; and three grandchildren, Kline, Korben, and Magnolia Neuenschwander, all of Markle.
Aside from his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Neuenschwander and a sister, Betty L. Mann.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, from 2:00 until 8:00 PM, at Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, 3220 East State Road 124, Bluffton, IN. Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 29, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home, with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffton, with military graveside rites provided by the United States Army Honor Guard in conjunction with the Bluffton American Legion Post 111.
Memorial contributions in Don's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
