Donald E. Myers, 89, of Bluffton, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Ossian Healthcare.

He was born Dec. 12, 1927, in Huntington to Clell S. Myers and Leeta Lawrence Myers. He married Patricia Archbold in Bluffton Sept. 15, 1951; she preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2017.

He retired from Franklin Electric in 1991 after 40 years. He was in the United States Army from 1945 to 1947. He also worked part-time at Wal-Mart after retirement. He attended Nazarene Church in Bluffton and was a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge F&AM.

Donald was a Boy Scout leader for many years in Bluffton and received the Silver Beaver award from President Ronald Regan in 1987. He was also an avid IU fan and Colts fan. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling with his wife.

Survivors include sons, Mark E. Myers of Bluffton, Douglas (Sherry) Myers of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Glenn S. Myers of Bluffton.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clell Jr., Carl and Wayne Myers; and two sisters, Lois Maxine Martin and Betty Glover.

Calling hours are from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Goodwin-Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel, and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday July 14, before the service at the funeral home. The service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with Pastor Tim McKnight officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 111 of Bluffton. Burial is at Markle Cemetery.
